With a rickshaw puller who knows Shuzenji inside and out, you’ll not only be guided to local landmarks but also have the chance to capture memorable photos at the best spots.

写経は「書く坐禅」ともいわれ、一文字一文字を丁寧に書き写すことで、心を落ち着け、
自分自身と向き合うことができる修行。古刹「修禅寺」の静謐な雰囲気の中で写経を体験していただける貴重な機会です。
筆ペンを使用しますので初めての方でも安心してご参加いただけます。

Shakyo, the practice of copying Buddhist sutras by hand, is often called “Zen through writing.”
In this experience, you’ll write the Heart Sutra in the peaceful setting of Shuzenji Temple, a historic temple
with over 1,200 years of history. Even first-timers can participate comfortably, as the practice uses an easy-to-handle brush pen.

修善寺温泉バスターミナルのすぐ近くにある、レンタル着物・浴衣の専門店。
初めての方でもスタッフが帯や髪飾り、小物選びまで豊富な品揃えの中から丁寧にコーディネートしてくれるので安心です。
約1時間の着付け体験の後は、風情あふれる修善寺の町並みを、着物姿で自由に散策いただけます。

Even first-timers can feel at ease ? friendly staff will help you choose the perfect obi, hair accessories, and other items.
After about an hour-long dressing session, enjoy strolling through the charming streets of Shuzenji in your elegant kimono or yukata.

修善寺温泉の歴史は、今から1200年前、高僧・空海が川の中に湧く温泉「独鈷の湯」を発見したことから始まりました。
由緒ある禅寺に参拝し、竹林の小径のベンチから青空を仰ぎ、伊豆最古の温泉で足湯を楽しんでみませんか。

The history of Shuzenji Onsen dates back 1,200 years, beginning with the discovery of Tokko-no-Yu,
a hot spring bubbling up in the river, by the high priest Kobo Daishi (Kukai).
Visit to the venerable Zen temple, gaze up at the blue sky from a bench along the Bamboo Grove Path,
and relax your feet in the oldest hot spring in Izu.

江戸時代に徳川家康の御用紙としても採用された由緒ある和紙「修善寺紙」を現代に蘇らせる唯一の場所。
工房では紙の歴史と素材への理解を深めながら、実際の紙すきに挑戦でき、名刺・はがき・大判の中から1つを選んで
自分の手で漉いていただきます。はがきを選択された場合は草花でデザインすることも可能。

Shuzenji Washi paper was once chosen as official paper by the shogunate in the 1600s (Edo period).
Today, this traditional washi is preserved and revived at the only remaining workshop in Shuzenji.
Here, you can try your hand at papermaking while learning about the history and natural materials behind it.
Choose from business cards, postcards, or large-size sheets.
If you select a postcard, you can also decorate it with seasonal plants and flowers.

江戸時代から受け継がれる伝統技法を今に伝える、麦わら細工の工房兼ショップ。
中でも「むぎだま」と呼ばれる繊細な編み細工は、“幸せが続く”縁起物として親しまれています。
麦の花言葉「信・繁栄・希望」にちなんだ手仕事は、お守りのような温かみがあります。
初心者でも参加できる体験では、動物をチーフやリース、籠など、好みに合わせた作品作りが楽しめます。

The art of straw craft has been passed down since the 1600s (Edo period).
At this charming studio and shop, you'll find beautifully handwoven items such as the Mugidama -　a traditional round-shaped ornament symbolizing lasting happiness.
These pieces carry the meanings of wheat’s symbolic language: wealth, prosperity, and hope.
Even beginners can enjoy making their own piece, from small animal figures and mini wreaths to tiny woven baskets.

120年の歴史をもつ蔵の重厚な空間で、天然藍やブルーベリー、ワサビ、紅花など、自然の恵みから生まれる多彩な色と出会えます。
ギャラリー兼工房では、季節ごとの草木染や本藍染の体験が可能。
オリジナルのハンカチ、手ぬぐい、Tシャツなどを自分の手で染め上げます。
染める素材を持ち込むことも可能です。

Step into a beautifully preserved 120-year-old kura (Japanese storehouse) and discover the vibrant colors of nature.
This gallery and workshop showcases naturally dyed works made with indigo, blueberries, wasabi, safflower, and other seasonal plants.
You can try your hand at traditional indigo dyeing or plant-based dyeing and create your own unique handkerchief,
tenugui towel, or T-shirt. You are also welcome to bring your own item to dye.

達磨山レストハウスから臨む富士山は、1939年ニューヨーク万博に出品された富士山の写真が撮影された絶景ポイント。
伊豆山稜線の一角を成す「金冠山（標高816m）」のハイキングです。
金冠山からの富士山の壮大な眺めは、標高2,000mを超える山々からの眺望にも匹敵。
初心者でも簡単に登れる絶景ハイキングコースです。

From Darumayama Rest House, enjoy the iconic view of Mt. Fuji that was featured in a photograph exhibited at the 1939 New York World EXPO.
Mt. Fuji is Japan’s most iconic peak.
Mt. Kinkan (elevation 816m)-part of the Izu ridgeline-is a perfect alternative for an easy yet breathtaking hike.
From Mt. Kinkan, the spectacular view of Mt. Fuji rivals that seen from mountains over 2,000 meters in elevation.
This is a scenic hiking course that is easy even for beginners.

かすりの着物に姉さんかぶりの手ぬぐいを巻いた、かわいらしい“茶摘み娘”の衣装で茶摘みを楽しめます。
茶畑からは、世界文化遺産「富士山」＆「韮山反射炉」を同時に臨めます。
頭に巻いた「手ぬぐい」はそのままお持ち帰りいただけます。
自社製造のお煎茶と、摘んだ生葉のお土産付き。

Dress up as a charming tea-picking girl in a traditional kasuri kimono and headscarf, just like in the old days.
From the tea fields, you can enjoy a rare view of two World Cultural Heritage Sites at once: Mt. Fuji and the Nirayama Reverbatory Furnace.
You can take the tenugui (headscarf) home as a souvenir.
The experience also includes a pack of our original sencha green tea and the fresh tea leaves you picked yourself.
